About

Electric Jet Aircraft develops advanced electric jet propulsion systems for personal and unmanned flight across commercial and defense applications.

With seven generations of electric jetpack prototypes and over a decade of innovation in VTOL systems, EJA has delivered multiple working aircraft platforms, including:

  • EJ-1 Jetpack – the world’s first fully electric jetpack. Advancing to production with EJA partner LEO Flight Corporation

  • DARPA VTOL prototype – developed in 2021–22 for defense applications

  • CanopE-Jet – a commercial vehicle derived from DARPA work

  • ArcSpear – a compact, durable, high-speed quadjet now entering production

About Pete Bitar, Founder

Pete Bitar is an inventor and entrepreneur with 18 patents across aerospace, defense, and clean energy. His work includes missile defense and counter-IED technologies for the U.S. military, and the world’s first patented electric jetpack.

A longtime pioneer in personal VTOL flight, Pete was a finalist in Boeing’s GoFly Prize and has spent decades designing compact, all-electric aircraft. He previously led VTOL development at AirBuoyant before founding Electric Jet Aircraft to focus on electric jet propulsion.

Today, he continues to lead the charge into a new era of clean, vertical flight — one aircraft at a time.
